The DC Captive Insur ance Newsletter Fourth Quarter 2011 What’s Inside ? 2 4 President’s Message . . . . . . . . . . 10th Annual Conference ill White, Commissioner of the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB), set the tone for CIC-DC’s 10th Anniversary Conference with his opening remarks that included: “None of the success of this captive domicile could have happened without all of you.” He refl ected that the roster of captive insurance companies grew from 37 in 2004 to 154 by the end of 2010 on the strength of revised captive regulations that now are among the most advanced among U.S. or global domiciles. “The real value of a domicile like this is the ability to remain consistent in all market cycles,” Commissioner White said. “I’ll make sure the Department has the resources to maintain that growth.” A conference highlight was the evening reception honoring CIC-DC leaders over its 10-year history including the DC Council, DISB, the CIC-DC board and staff in a ceremony led by CIC-DC Chairman Glenn Saslow.
