The DC Captive Insur ance Newsletter Fourth Quarter 2010 What’s Inside President’s Message ? 2 3 3 3 4 Dear CIC-DC Members and Friends, begin this letter by thanking all who attended CIC-DC’s Annual Conference in October. Thank you to all the speakers for their time and preparations. We are especially grateful to our keynote speakers, Knight Kiplinger and Doug Bennett, for sharing their insight about the economy and especially the most lively political scenes of our time. Well done everyone! As we look ahead we will still be thinking about some of the headlines from 2010; the “Healthcare Reform Act”, House Bill 4802, the NAIC’s stan-dards addressing RRG’s, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services mandatory reporting requirements. It sounds like 2010 was a year for regulation, some good, some not so good. There will be painful chal-lenge, but also opportunity for many of our business. We will also be thinking about Emerging, Enter-prise and Healthcare Risk which surely represent opportunities for the alternative risk industry. We will be especially challenged by a stubborn and not so promising general economy and an 2011 Officers & Directors . . . . . . 2011 Promotions Committee . . . . . . . 2011 Education Committee . . . . . . . Be careful! We will wonder about how the most dramatic representative change in our Federal and State Governments will affect our lives and businesses. In the year ahead, the CIC-DC Board will remain committed to supporting you and continuing our commitment of offering you great educational programs. In closing, on behalf of the Board of Directors at CIC-DC, best wishes for the years ahead! Sincerely, MMSEA Section 111 . . . . . . . 2010 Annual Conference . . . . . .
