It’s a great looking display and the fit and finish on this phone nearly make it a work of art. It’s certainly something you’ll want to hold. Especially if you’ve been carrying an older Blackberry Curve, around for awhile. It’s glossy black and the keyboard feels big enough to get some work done on. What really makes the Tour special, though, it it’s traveler friendly features. The Blackberry Tour offers world-roaming capabilities in the form of multiple bands and capabilities as well as working GPS, Bluetooth, and a 3.2-megapixel camera that shoots some pretty decent pictures. While the Tour is officially successor to the World Phone, it’s design looks like that of the Bold and the Curve, taking on the best of each, but alas does not support Wi-Fi. If you can get past that, you will have a phone that no matter what country you wake up in, you’ll still have the same phone number thanks to the dual band CDMA and quad band GSM support which the phone switches seamlessly and automatically. If you find yourself travelling, the Tour is a no-brainer. If you don’t, we think you’ll still like it as the best looking and fullest featured of the Blackberry line. A professional gadgeteer is lost without electrical power. All of our coolest stuff requires electricity to keep it humming and not everything we own comes with the adapter we need for the countries we sometimes find ourselves in. The Sun Pak Universal World-Wide Travel adapter attempts to solve the problem of plugs that don’t match up. While not a small unit, it is light weight, mostly due to the fact that this gadget is an adapter rather than a converter. Many modern devices have the internal switching they need to adapt the amount and type of power they see for the device, but they don’t have the plugs and prongs in the right places to make the connection. The travel adapter makes it easy and we find it especially useful for charging devices using the included USB adapter. If you find yourself travelling with a digital camera, a camcorder, or iPod and want to keep it charged and ready for action whether you find yourself in Europe or Asia,we think this gadget might just do the trick for you. HP Smart Wi-Fi Display
Now you can take home with you anywhere you have access to Wi-Fi. The HP 8” Smart Wi-Fi Display is not at all like that Digital Picture Frame you bought two years ago. This device is a full-featured wireless digital picture frame that grabs pictures from Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, or practically any other place you tell it on the web and creates a running slide show that can include updated weather information all the while playing your favorite internet radio station. Configured over the web, you can even give the frame as a gift and then manage the photos on it remotely. The website even allows you to assign friends or family the ability to send photos to the frame from their cell phones. We really like the web based frame management capability, as it is going to allow us to send frames to our less technically inclined loved ones and keep the pictures fresh and updated without having to make regular trips to swap memory cards. About $179.
